FOTD: Sunday March 22 2009

I wasn't really going out or anything, so I thought I'd do something fun. Watch out, it's very glittery!!! It's a smokey with a dash of pink.

Products used: LA Colors Glittering Starlet Palette in Ginger, Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara, Amuse Glistening Mascara in Pink. Not Pictured: Estee Lauder Lip Gloss in Pink Ribbon Pink (LE), Almay Pure Blends Mineral Makeup in 400, ELF Blush in Glow.

I applied the gray shadow (if you count 1, 2, 3, top L-R, bottom, L-R, it is #6) over the first 1/2 of my lid. I applied the pink (#3) to the middle of the lid. I applied black (#7) to the outer part of my lid, and on the outer V. Blend all the harsh lines out. I applied the gold/champagne kind of color (#1) to my highlight. For my lower lash line, I applied black to the outer 1/2 and gray to the inner 1/2.

Curled my lashes and applied the Max Factor mascara. When that dried, I applied the Amuse pink mascara.

Now, for these first two pics. WOAH! Check out that fall out!!! (click to enlarge.) It's a crazy amount, but with one sweep of a fluffy brush, it was gone. Whew! I was worried. I have craft supply herpes all over my face. No mascara or lower lash lined in these two.

Finished eye:

Estee Lauder lip gloss. This is actually rather darker. The pics below do it more justice, but I'm just working with getting a good lip photo down. HOW DO YOU DO IT???

See, much pinker. Less berry. Look at those glitter lashes!

I realize as I'm posting this that I never took a pic of the shadows I used. This is an old pic, but we'll use it. The shadows I used are: the last photo in the yellow section (bottom right). It's a coppery color. #3 for a highlight. The 3rd shadow in the last column, it's a shimmery plum.
Mascara and liner: Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara, CG Perfect Point Plus in Plum Velvet, Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus
NYX round lipstick in Apollo
Coppery color all over lid. Shimmery plum on crease and outer V. Champagne (#3) to highlight (browbone)

Lockheed Martin Christmas Party 2008 and FOTD: Sat Dec 13

Every year on the 2nd weekend in December (right around my birthday, actually) the Donaldson Center Lockheed Martin holds its annual Christmas party, sometimes at the Hyatt, usually at the Crowne Plaza. I was very pleased to have a lovely dress this year, thanks to a wonderful woman who is an alum of the college I attend. I was looking for a dress to borrow and she gave me this dress. Yes! Gave it to me! I was so excited. These photos are actually taken after the party, so I am missing a hair clip (had to return it to my sis) and Kevin's hair had been in a ponytail (he looked very dashing. The dress was a bit long, but that's what I get for being 5'2.

FOTD: Eyeshadow: Wet 'n' Wild Mega Eyes trio in Amazon Greens; Lipstick: Revlon (I don't remember the color, left it at my parents house. Wine something. It's a bid faded in the pix); Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara in Rich Black; Wet 'n' Wild Mega Glow Illuminating Powder in Catwalk Pink; ELF blush in Glow; Max Factor Silk Perfection in Cool Bronze; Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent Medium (I think);

I will have more pix up when I get some from my sis. :-)

Simple Makeup Routine

So, this is the makeup I wear on a daily basis. So, basically, the reason I don't do an FOTD more is because most days it looks like this. So this is my FOTD for everyday you don't see one. :-)

Only the six products you see below. The lip product and the blush changes from time to time. Below are pictured ELF Tone Correcting Concealer in Tone 2, ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance, ELF Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow, ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine in Watermelon, Max Factor Waterproof 2000 Calorie Mascara in Rich Black and Max Factor Silk Perfection Makeup in Cool Bronze.

FOTD: Sunday Nov 30

This is my first ever attempt at a cat eye, so I took pictures from different angles. Tips are appreciated! The shadow is by Princessa, you can get it at Cherry Culture. It's the 8 piece palette. It's not all that great, I really don't recommend it. But I thought I would try it today. A very good base is necessary. And I sprayed my brush with mixing medium while I was doing it. (I didn't want it to be too strong, or else I would've mixed the shadow and the mixing medium before putting it on my brush.)

PLEASE IGNORE MY EYEBROWS! I want a different shape so I'm growing them out. It's PAINFUL. That's why I did such a dramatic look! I wanted people to be distracted. "Hmm, you're eyebrows umm... -- ooh look at that shadow!)

The mascara I used is Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Mascara. GET IT! It's so awesome!!! Just look at those babies. This is two coats.

For the face products today I used that Lorac Blush in the Hit Pan tag. I also used a different foundation. I used Almay clear complexion powder makeup. It's supposed to be good for your skin. It has salicylic acid in it! And I have a huge zit on my chin! (Difficult to see in the photos... YAY!!!) I have to say I much prefer liquid or cream makeup. It gives a better coverage. Although this make up is good when I want my freckles to show through.

Look at my awesome earrings! Don't you love them.
I got them from Hot Topic a year or so ago.
"Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!"

Tag: Hit Pan

This is taken from Xteeener's Hit Pan Tag / Giveaway. But I've already entered and I wanted to post this on my blog, too, for those of you who don't follow me on YouTube.

What are some products you've hit pan on?
Why did you hit pan?
Will you be purchasing again?

So, here are the products I've hit pan on:
Going clockwise: I see two Cover Girl compacts,
a Lorac Palette, a Max Factor compact, and
an ELF compact that's not looking too hot.

Let's open them up:

Again going clockwise:
  • Okay, the first Cover Girl compact is Cover Girl Clean Pressed Powder in Creamy Natural. I bought this a loooong time ago. It's WAY too light for me, but it's perfect as a matte highlight on my face!
  • This is a Cover Girl Tanfastic Bronzer in Soleil. It's a medium brown shade (as far as bronzers go) and has hint of shimmer that makes it perfect for the summer.
  • Next is one of the first high-end things I ever bought. This is the Lorac Paparazzi Palette. For a long time this was the only blush I used. It's one of my darker blushes but it goes on so perfectly. Lurve it
  • I use this Max Factor Silk Perfection makeup EVERY DAY! I love it! Although, when it's gone I'm going to try out some other things that I need to use up.
  • This ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance is something else that I use every day. I sweep it along my cheek bones before I put on blush to give a slight golden shimmer to my blush. It's not dark at all (or else I wouldn't be putting it on my cheek bones)
Okay, those are some things I've hit pan on! What about you? I actually don't have anything I've hit pan on because of it not being good, but I know that is the case for some people -- e.g., an eyeshadow that you had to apply a LOT for the color to really show up or a nail polish that you had to use 4-5 coats every time to avoid a VNL (Visible Nail Line). Hit pan does not have to mean an actual pan. The product could be lip gloss or nail polish (as mentioned above) that you ran out of for one reason or another.

Tagging: EVERYONE who reads this!!!

FOTD: Monday Nov 24

Face of the Day for today!

Eyes: I used Two Faced Shadow Insurance (not pictured) Victoria's Secret Mosaic Eye Shadow in Mosaic Sky, Rimmel Extra Super Lash, and NYC Waterproof Eyeliner in Teal.
Lips: Just a chapstick (np) and then Estee Lauder All Day Lipstick in Twinkle Pink

Very simple look. The lighter green color on the inner 3/4 the eye. The darker green on the outer corner. Blend, blend, blend. Eyeliner on upper and lower lash line. Curl lashes. Mascara. Apply lippie. :-)
The colors look a bit better IRL than they do in this pic above. Maybe the flash washed the colors out. Anyway, in the last photo, you get a better idea.

Oooh, that bit of hair out of place in the top is driving me nuts!
So, I didn't mention my face products. Sorry! Max Factor Silk Perfection in Cool Bronze, all over face; Physician's Formula Multi-Colored Bronzer for contouring cheek bones; Cover Girl pressed powder in creamy natural for matte highlight; ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance along cheek bones; ELF Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow on apples of my cheek. :-)
