I just nicked this from B at Clumps of Mascara. It's a "What I'm Using Right Now" meme

FOTD: Thursday March 05 2009

So, I only photographed two of the products I used, because everything else is the stuff I use everyday. This is Almay's intense-i-color mascara in purple and ELF eyeshadow in Silver Lining. You actually cannot see the purple in the mascara at all. Boo.
And it's not just in the photos, it's in real life.
I love my lashes:

My lipstick looks a little messed up here. Oh well.

NOTD: Monday March 09 2009

So, I have a lot of drug store polishes. It's basically all I own, but I love looking at swatches from the many polish blogs (see links to the blogs I follow on the left). Once in a while I see a color that I MUST HAVE. Until I graduate and have more money, I'm not going to be able to buy all the polishes I want. So, I'll try to dupe it. I'm not that good at it. Anyway, one such color that I fell in love with at first sight was Dirty Sexy Money from Misa's Living On The Fast Lane collection. Here's a swatch from one of my favorite polish bloggers: ScrangieIsn't her manicure PERFECT? The color is wonderful. It's a delightful dusty teal color. Plus, I loved the show! It's so deliciously ridiculous.

Anyway, I tried to dupe it using the colors below:
These are the same colors I used to make Xanadu, my gray color

My color ended up being too light. Grr, it looked the right color in the mixing dish, then I put it on my nails and it was clearly obvious how light it was... Then I went outside! Oh well. It's a fun color. I am going to try again later, but I'll keep this on for now. Oh, btw, this is two thick coats without a topcoat. And I haven't cleaned it yet.

Note: although my dupe is too light, it isn't as light as it is in the photos. All of them make it look quite a bit whiter than it is.

We're calling this color: Parisian

Outside--Sunlight

Inside--Fluorescent

I only had one vote (Tiffasaurus failed me) so now, my nails are green! I'm really liking the color! I wanted something different than what I had on hand, so I frankened!

These are the colors I used:

Recipe: 20 drops of Maybelline Go Go Green (a chartreuse with shimmer), 10 drops of Sally Hansen Emerald City (a darker green with shimmer, not quite forest green), and 10 drops of Pure Ice Jaguar (a champagne gold with a hint of fine glitter).

Mix 'em all together and the result was Harlequin:

I love picking out new names :-)

This color is what Maybelline Go Go Green wishes it was! I mean, compared with the outside of the bottle, it looks like GGG should be this shade, but compare these swatches (one coat each). GGG is a lot more YELLOW than Harlequin. It's hard to tell with one coat, but here are the pictures.

Also, here is the little mixing thing that I use. I don't have very many empty bottles so, I use this and only make enough for one mani.

This is one of those "band aid-but-better" colors, I'd say. This is from the Revlon Color Stay line and the color is "Always Natural (sorry, no pic of the bottles). It comes with the color and the top coat. These pics are actually sans topcoat. So, I imagine it'd be much more shiney with it. But without the topcoat, it really does look band aid color to me. Also, the texture is weird. It always feels soft and when I picked at it, it was stretchy. Weird. (Oh, oops for picking at my nails!) It's bugging me, anyway. I need something bright and vivid. I'll let you pick. Green? Red? Purple? Pink? You pick.

On second thought, no green. St. Patty's is coming up and I'll save the green for that.

Products used
Face:
  • Almay pure blends mineral makeup in 400 (light to soft medium)
  • ELF Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow
  • Wet 'n' Wild MegaGlo Illuminating Powder in Catwalk Pink
Eyes
  • Ulta Shadow in Pink
  • Physician's Formula RetroGlow Illuminating Eyeshadow in Crystal Classic
  • L.A. Girl Eyeliner in Raging Violet
  • Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus
  • Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Boost Mascara in Very Black
Lips
  • Avon pro-to-go lipstick in Golden Pink

It's fairly simple, just adding a few things to my daily routine, which consists of makeup, blush, lipstick and mascara. I added two shadows, a highlighter, and lash primer. I used the PF Crystal Clear on my inner corner and on my brow bone, and dusted the Ulta Pink all over my lid. The eyeliner is only on my lower lashline. I used the WNW Illuminator very sparingly, the dark side in the hollows (or what would be my hollows if I didn't have chubby li'l cheeks) of my cheeks and the lighter side on my cheek bones. Also, can I say how much I love the Almay Pure Blends makeup in that tube? It's so convienient and easy and it gives decent coverage!!! THANK YOU TIFFASAURUS!

P.S. NO my collar is NOT popped! That is just how this sweater is. It isn't a laydown collar. And it isn't a polo collar either.

Daily Face

On a daily basis, these are the only products I use. Honestly! (I might rotate mascaras, though.)
It's quick and simply. I like to wear some makeup, because, usually, I don't like the look of a naked face. And if I'm going to wear a little something on my face, I might as well spruce it up a bit. Still looks quite natural.

Also, check out my awesome new hair color! Woo! Matches my glasses.
