NOTD: Friday April 3 2009

This is NYC Love Me Red. It's actually a lovely hot pink with a pinky/purpley flash. Fun fun color. Applies very easy. Opaque in two coats.

Camwhoring

These are some older camwhoring photos (if you're friends with me on Facebook, you'll recognize the profile pic) but I just love these shots. It's the only time I've ever worn a red lip. On the eyes is ELF in silver lining. Not sure what's on the lips. I don't have red lipstick, so I think whatever lipstick I'm wearing is augmented by some matte red eyeshadow and gloss (possibly ELF plumping lip glaze in ruby kiss)

FOTD: Friday April 3 2009

Actually, I have no idea what I wore this day, but it's a cute pic, lol!

NOTD: Thursday April 02 2009

This is a funky looking NOTD, but a little challenging. I applied Rimmel Passion over my nails, and then painted the underside of my nails with Rimmel Tip Whitener. In retrospect, I definitely should've done the white first. I don't think I'd do this again. It looked really cool, but my nails are too short for this to be anything but terribly difficult.

NOTD: Wednesday April 1 2009

If there is one thing I love, it's pinks with gold shimmers. (Also peaches and corals with gold shimmers, but this is pink). I love the name of this color: Tutu Tango. It's rather sheer though. This is four coats, and it's near opacity, but there is still a bit of VPL (visible polish line).

NOTD: Tuesday March 31 2009

This is a fun fun fun color! It is Pink Crush by Petites. I got it from my mom over the Christmas Hols. I guess she had bought it but wasn't a fan. It's not really a good color for her anyway. Too bright and flashy. GREAT color for me! It's a bright metallic pink. A little more rosy in person.

Playing with Falsies

So, the other day I decided to watch several false lash tutorials (EmilyNoel83 XSparkage JulieG413 xTeeener and KandeeJohnson) and then play with them on my own. Well, after messing around for a while, putting them on, taking them off, trying and trying. I cut a pair in half and applied that to the outer half of one of my eyes. Because, I was failing and need more practice at applying the whole thing. I thought it looked pretty decent. I mean, it didn't suck completely, right? Check it out:

So, if you want some tips and tricks for applying falsies, click on the names of those beauty gurus I mentioned at the start of this post. Don't ask me. Because I fail at it. :-)

Nightime Routine

I love love love wearing makeup, but my face needs to breath sometimes, right? This is my routine before I go to bed to clean everything off.

I start by removing my eye makeup with a cotton ball and this L'Oreal Eye Makeup Remover knock off (Walmart Brand!). Who cares if it's generic. It works rather well (not so much against waterproof, since it's oil-free, though). It's a cute bottle, too!

Next, I take one of these cucumber exfoliating cleansing towelettes to my face. I start by taking the bumpy side to my whole face and then I use the smooth side. This is to remove all my makeup and cleanse my face. I love this so much! They are an excellent product and work really well.
After cleaning, I might tone. I do not always do this step. If I have a break out or feel one coming on, I will use the Clean and Clear astringent all over my face. If not, I will use the Clinque. The CnC has 2% salicylic acid. The Clinque really helps to sooth my skin after removing all my makeup.
Next, I apply this medicated acne gel to wherever I have a breakout or feel one coming on. Something with benzoyl peroxide is a really good acne treatment.
Now, I have long nails, so I have serious difficulty getting creams out jars without it getting under my nail. I've taken to using this little spatula I have. This is the Clinque All About Eyes Rich Eye Cream. I didn't used to use an eye cream, but I have noticed a difference since I have started, in puffiness and under eye circles. My under eye skin is just more healthy.
Lastly I slather this Pond's moisturizing cream all over my face and neck. It's an excellent moisturizer. I tend to have dryer cheeks and this helps to combat the dryness.
I apply this ELF Theraputic Conditioning Balm every night! Otherwise, I have a serious tendency to get chapped lips. It's creamy and moisturizing. Plus, it's strawberry!!
Now, I've been using this lately. This is the Ardell Brow and Lash Growth Acellerator. No word on how well it works, but we'll see. After using it for a few weeks, I'll do a review.

Now I put on my mask and go to bed. Zzzzz.....

Franken: Cambodia

After reviewing some ELF polishes, I decided that one of them, Fair Pink, HAD to go. If you saw the review, you understand. So, I decided to toss some pigment into the bottle. I used TKB Tangerine Pop! and Coastal Scents Yellow Oxide.

Results? My latest franken, Cambodia:

Lovely color! That is two coats, in the picture. So, it is much more opaque. I really love this color!!!

EcoTools Review

I just uploaded a review to YouTube on the EcoTools 6-pc-brush set, which includes a blush brush, an eye shading brush, an eyeliner brush, a lash and brow groomer, a concealer brush, and a brush roll.

Price: 4.5 out of 5; I picked it up for $10. But it was on sale. Not sure what the normal price is.
Packaging: 5 out of 5; it's environmentally conscious; I really like the packaging. The reusable storage pouch is rather cute!
Performance: 3.5 out of 5; The blush and concealer brushes are my faves. I don't have much to say about the lash/brow groomer or liner brush. I don't use a liner brush that much. The shadow brush leaves something to be desired. It is better suited as a concealer or cream shadow brush.
Overall: 3.5 out of 5; great starter set.
