E-Bay and Coastal Scents Mini Hauls

I ordered a couple brushes and some samples from Coastal Scents and they're in! Yay!!!! I'm totally going to order there again.

Everything came in this really cute little pink bag. I've unwrapped the brushes but I put everything back in to show you.

These are the two mineral powder foundation samples I ordered, $2 a piece: Silk Cover Light 1.2 and Medium 1.2 Mineral Foundation and then a free eyeshadow in Funk Shadow that they gave me! It's a BEAUTIFUL sparkly aubergine.

These are the brushes. The PINK KABUI! How totally frickin' cute! And the C218 Blending Fluff

I've never used any eye primers before, I on E-Bay, I got two. Mary Kay Signature Eye Primer(above) and Claudia Stevens Eye Primer (below).

I'm Blonde at Heart

Yesterday, I began the many stepped process of changing my hair color. This is taking longer than it ever has before because I'm using color stripper and bleaching. Plus, I'm giving my hair breaks in between. Yesterday, I stripped the color and then bleached it. Today, I'm repeating this process over because it didn't get light enough. I knew I would have to.

About to start! Very excited!

Got the color stripper in my hair.

Hair is rinsed and conditioned. You can see that the color stripper took out not only the dye but some of my actual color. This is good, gives me a head start with the bleaching

Getting ready to bleach my hair. Mixing up the Jerome Russel Punky Bleach Kit in 40 vol.

Look how golden its getting!!!! There's also some red.

My hair all washed and dried. It's in a ponytail b/c we were getting ready to go to Wal-mart.

You can see in this picture that the ends and the back are still pretty red. That's why I'm re-stripping and bleaching it today. Also, while I did pretty good with my roots in the front, you can see them in the back. Pretty shitty, no?

This was taken this morning. With nice smooth hair and a little makeup. What a difference it makes! Holy cow! I think this picture is TOO CUTE!

Another picture so you can see my hair. It's really red. Well, it's being stripped of color as we speak so I suppose I'll have another photo montage in a little bit.

Haul: Dollar Tree and Sally Beauty Supply

So, today I needed to get some color stripper for my hair and stain remover for my skin after I color. Okay, well I don't need to go out and buy color stripper. I ordered some online, but I'm way too impatient. I'll save that one to do next time. So, I went to Sally's. I LURVE Sally's! I got a Sally's card. $5 for the whole year. In two trips, I make all that money back.

Anyway, I picked up some L'Oreal ColorZap. The cashier recommended that one. Since I already have color in my hair, I need to strip the color before I bleach it. To get the stain out of my skin after I color, I picked up Ion Stain Remover. I haven't used this before. Usually, I just rub as much as I can out and wait until it fades.

While I was there, I also picked up some Beyond The Zone products, since they're having a buy two get one free sale. I got two bottles of Color Jamz in Bubble Head Pink and Non So Shy Violet. I'll use these after my color starts to fade. Damn, I love Color Jamz. Since they were having that sale, I also got The Scruncher. Can't wait to try out this product. It's a "3-in-1 spray, with natural organic extracts and Panthenol to scrunch, style and finish a look that lasts all day." And it's a pretty big bottle; over 500 mL.

At the Dollar Tree, I wanted to pick up some makeup remover wipes. I use it to clean brushes on a daily basis after I use them. They're really thin. They probably suck for getting it off your face well, but I just want it to clean my brushes. I still do a real cleaning once a week. While I was there, I picked up a couple L.A. Colors loose eyeshadows in Black Pearl, Lollipop, and Snow White. I wanted to pick up Sunshine, the gold color, but I couldn't remember if I already owned it!!!! These are sold at Cherry Culture for $3, but at the dollar tree for $1!!!!!!

Anyway, I'm about to use the color stripper so I can get started on my hair project!

Face Secrets Brushes Review

As you know, I purchased two Face Secrets brushes from Sally's. The Eye Contour brush is made from pony hair and the Concealer/Liner is synthetic. I used them today. The Concealer/liner brush, I feel works best as an eyeliner brush. It's thin and tapered which makes it great for eyeliner, reaching in small places like the corner of your eye and under the lashes. I LOVE the Eye Contour brush. It's my first natural brush. What a huge difference! It's so fluffy and soft. I just went and bid on goat hair brushes on E-Bay today. I hope I win. I love natural brushes. I can't believe how soft it is!

I definitely recommend the Eye Contour brush. It's a great brush for only $4.99. :-) As a concealer brush, I have another brush that's better. I don't like my concealer brushes to be pointed, but rather to be flat and rounded like a tiny foundation brush. I will continue to use the Concealer/Liner brush an eyeliner brush, though.

Organization

So, I took the things I bought yesterday and organized all my makeup! Yay! Before, it was just a pile of small to middling sized makeup bags, falling over one another. This looks much better.

On top, we have two hurricane jars. One is full of brushes and implements. The second holds liners and a couple mascaras that wouldn't fit into the drawer. It was full! I'm going to have to get another box when my Cherry Culture and E.L.F. hauls comes in. Also on top, we have some face stuff that I couldn't fit anywhere else. Some foundations and stuff like.

The first drawer is for eyeshadow and it is FULL. I couldn't put a tiny little pot in there if I wanted to. The second drawer is meant to be for lips, but since the eye drawer was filled with just eyeshadow, I had to put some liners and mascara in there, too. The bottom drawer is for face, makeup, powder, blush and bronzers.

On the side, is a small plastic makeup bag with somethings that didn't fit. A couple duplicates and two three pressed powders that didn't fit anywhere. In front of the box is a mirrored tray I got from my mom. It got a lot of random stuff on it, but it's so pretty! I love it!

Haul Pt.5: Mental Floss

Also, when I picked up my mail, there was a package from Mental Floss! Yaaaayyy!!!! I had ordered to very geeky, very appropriate shirts for next semester. Next semester, I'll be taking genetics. So, Mental Floss has this shirt I've wanted for soooo long and it was the perfect time to order it.

I can't wait to wear it to the first day of class!

Secondly, I'm a psych major. This shirt will be appropriate every day!

Yay!

Haul Pt.4: The Garment District

A week or so ago, I purchased some stuff from The Garment District. Well, it came in today!!! Yayyyy!!! I'm totally stoked.

My Haul:

First: Jerome Russell's Punky Bleach Kit. I picked up the 40 vol. (30 vol. pictured.)It comes with a tint brush, plastic gloves, peroxide, and bleach pack. I've bleached my hair before, don't worry! I just have to wait for the Color Zap to come in to strip out the black in my hair.

The two colors I picked up were Special Effects Atomic Pink and Wildflower. If you're ever going to color your hair a funky color, USE SPECIAL EFFECTS! They come out the brightest and stay the longest. It's super easy to use, you just might turn your bathtub a little purple. Don't worry! It comes out!

Also, they sent me a bumper sticker! How nice! :-) I'm going to put it on the new white table I snagged that someone was about to toss. (The pictures of my products on the white plastic table? That's it.)

Haul Pt.3: Rite Aide

The last store I went to was Rite Aide. I wanted to check out which E.L.F. products they carried and I had seen on their website that L'Oreal H.I.P. was on sale. Failed on both accounts. This particular Rite Aide carried neither!!!! Bummer. However, I was able to pick up some other things that I had been interested in.

First: i-Style Freeze Hair Spray "Just Hold Me" by Samy Salon. I've always been of the opinion that Samy Salon makes FA-BU-LOUS hair products. This was originally $5.99, but there was a $2.00 coupon! I couldn't believe it! Samy Hair Spray for $4 bucks! w00t! I cannot wait to try this one.

Second, I got the Wet 'n' Wild Mega Liner liquid eyeliner in Turquoise and Plum. (Pictured in Black, Turquoise, and Brown.) I've heard great things about these. While I sucked at putting on liquid eyeliner last night, it could've just been because that stuff was UBER cheap. Maybe I'll be better at this. These were $2.99 each.

Lastly, I picked up a 7 Piece Travel Bottle Pack by Mon Image. It comes with a spray bottle, two small jars, two bottles, one with a squeeze cap, another with the kind of cap that you press the edge down to open, that are the perfect size for travel shampoo and conditioner. I HATE having to carry around giant bottles of toiletries when I travel. It's also got a tiny bottle and an AM/PM pill case! Very handy for me! I love this. The one I got is teal.

Haul Pt. 2: Fred's

I've never been to Fred's before, but I was in the area so I thought I'd check it out, see what kind of make-up they had.

My Haul:

They had some good stuff by MAX Factor and Maybelline for cheaper than you'd get it at the drug store. Plus the Maybelline was on sale!!! I picked up some Intense XXL Volume + Length Mascara in Very Black. It was only 4.49! It usually costs closer to $8.

Second, I picked up the Trim Remover . I think that's what it's called. It's for removing blackheads and whiteheads. The picture isn't the Trim implement, but another brand. It was $2.49. I've wanted to try one of these for a while. Remember, I'll always review new products for you! But it might take me a while.

Next, I picked up an E.L.F. Blushing, Bronzing and Blending Brush. It was $2.00, which is more than E.L.F. normally sells for, but there isn't anywhere around here that sells it and I didn't want to have to pay shipping!!! It looks okay, feels pretty soft. Fafinettex3 said it might shed, I think. We'll see.

Lastly, I picked up a Gem Mustache/Beard Scissors and Comb. My beard is getting out of control, you know? Just kidding! Wow, gross! Actually, a lot of people use it to trim their eyebrows. That's what I'll be doing. It was $1.29. The product picture I've got here is the Trim Implement. I've never heard of Gem before, you probably haven't either. But this shows you what we're talking about.

Haul Pt. 1: Walmart

Okay, so I'm going to stop shopping today. I've totally got enough stuff!!!! Okay, that's a lie, when can you have enough brushes and eyeshadow? But, I'll be broke before I know it. But, today I went to Wal-Mart to get an organizer for my make-up.

My Haul:

I got the idea from Fafinettex3. She has almost the same thing, but her's is white.

I also got some jars and ribbons for my brushes, I can't wait to show it to you when it's done!!! I also got this idea from Fafinettex3. I got two small hurricane jars made for candles and two spools of ribbon, pink and pale lilac.

These are hers. Mine aren't going to be anywhere near as nice as these, but that's okay.

Lastly at Wal-Mart, I got some Rimmel Extra Super Lash. It was a special value pack: 2 for $3.97!!!! That's less than two dollars each! How awesome!
