It's been a super long time with nothing. I haven't been doing many F/NOTDs lately. I've been a little lazy and also focusing on other things. I don't think I'll fully abandon this blog, but I don't think you can expect regular updates. Sorry to all. For slightly more regular updates on me and my life, feel free to swing by Mary Commentary, my personal blog of almost seven years. Also, I update my twitter several times a week.
This is an NOTD and FOTD from several weeks ago. You can tell because I'm still in my dorm. The eyeshadow is from the ELF Drama quad. The nail polish is Nina Ultra Pro in Tickle Me Pink.

Quickie Update
It's been far too long. Exams and such, you know. I've just moved into a new apartment. My camera is still packed in a box somewhere. I'm sorry!!!
I've been terribly busy. I haven't been wearing makeup or polish for a few weeks, so no NOTD or FOTD.
I'll try to do some reviews or something until I can get back in the swing of things.
Anyway,
Daily Stargirl:
Eyes: No shadow, just a quick sweep of Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Boost
Lips: Zalan Peach Fuss
Cheeks: Avon Earthen Rose
Nails: China Glaze Blue Sparrow, from the Ink CollectionRocking: Awesome jewelry that my momma made (there'll be pix)
Loving: My new apartment! It's cozy, but it's mine.
Going: crazy, stuck inside until the maintenance man gets here today.
Looking: for a job. Sheesh.
Missing: blogging! I am for reals.
Goal: Stick to my budget, stick to my diet, and find a job!

Seche Vite
Seche Vite is a popular top coat polish, I'm sure you're all aware. Today I was reading one of my favorite polish blogs, Little Fairy Nails, which is in French. About Man Glaze Fuggen Ugly, she said "et il sèche aussi très vite :)" At which point I realized that sèche vite actually means "dry quickly."
LOL!

Vampy Poll!
Time for another Vampy Varnish Poll!!!
What's your mood today? Relaxed (probably because I'm a little sleepy.)
What color polish do you have on? a Nina Ultra Pro color, I don't know the name. It's a raspberry with gold shimmer
Pepsi, Coke or Dr. Pepper? Dr. Pepper, Dr. Pepper, Dr. Pepper!!!!
What has been your favorite Spring/Summer polish collection so far? The neons are all to die for
What's your least favorite nail polish brand and why? Err, I'm not sure. I'll give anyone a chance, really.
How many nail polishes do you own? About 120
What do you do for a living? I'm a student. Hopefully soon I'll be employed, too.
What is your fantasy job? Staying in Academia FOREVAR!
iPhone or Blackberry? I totally want an iPhone. But it'll be a long time before I'm able to get one
Do you have a favorite author? I really don't think I could pick one! I love reading. Right now I'm reading a great book by Augusten Burroughs. Loves it.

NOTD: Thursday April 30 2009
So, from a mini China Glaze haul I got from Sally's during the B2G1 sale, here is Celtic Sun, a freaking yellow neon from the Ink Collection. Awesomelicious. (I also picked up Blue Sparrow. I should've picked up the other four, but apparently, I'm retarded, because the sale is over now.)
I tried it two different ways. First time is two coats of ChG White on White and two coats of ChG Celtic Sun. This comes of very bright and very stark. But, completely opaque.
A little softer is two coats of Maybelline Blushing Bride (which blushes not at all) and two coats of the ChG Celtic Sun. However, there is still a bit of VPL. But my nails are so short right now I hardly care.

In the world of beauty blogging and youtube gurus, there are many many thieves. Here is the latest, stealing pix from Scrangie! People, don't be a dick. I have a pic from Scrangie on my site, because I asked for permission. And gave credit. Geez.

NOTD: Friday April 10 2009
My nails on Friday! I used the following two polishes: Revlon Glimmer Gloss in Strawberry Sizzle and Pure Ice in Oh Baby!
Two coats of each. Love of lovely shimmers. The SS has pink and purple (almost blue) shimmer and the OB! has kind of an iridescent green shimmer.

Up real close so you can see all the shimmers!
Also, I broke my nails today, so they are much shorter now :-(

NOTD: Wednesday April 8 2009
This was so much fun and super easy to do. I just kept my purple mani from yesterday, and applied Icing's Marine Blue (green if you ask me) as french tips and polka dots.
This last picture, the color is off. A little blue-y. I was trying to get the color just right and went a little overboard. Oh well.

NOTD and FOTD: Tuesday April 7 2009
So, I didn't really think my FOTD deserved it's own post, but I wanted to post a pic anyway. I thought my skin looked particularly good today. Seriously, I am loving Everyday Minerals. So. Freaking. Much. Lovely. The lipstick is WnW #502A. It's a rosy mauve with gold shimmer. I have to say, for only costing $.99 I am loving WnW lipsticks!!!
Onto the nails. Well, I tried my new Maybelline Polish in Blushing Bride. There's nothing blushing about this color. This is two coats and still completely sheer. It would be good for a natural looking nail or a base for a French or American mani.
So, I didn't want to leave it at that, so I tossed this on top: a nameless Claire's purple neon that came in a set of five (including blue, orange, green, and yellow). This color is the most opaque out of all of them. This is three coats. This color is unbelievably fun! Like most neons, it dries matte, a finish I am growing to enjoy very much.

Review: L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara
Claim(from L'Oreal Paris):
Price: 3 out of 5; it cost almost $11 in most drug stores. A bit steep, I think. Wait for a BOGO!
Packaging: 3.5 out of 5; I like the color and feel of the packaging, but it's nothing special.
Performance:
What I think: This mascara is excellent for length, definition, and some serious staying power. I have a bad habit of rubbing my eyes and, naturally, when I do that my mascara just flakes right of and smudges all over my eye. Yuck. But today, I tested this mascara. I rubbed my eye and it didn't budge. I rubbed it again. Seriously? It did NOT move! Also, the length is pretty darn amazing. I was very impressed. However, it doesn't add any volume, and I'm a girl who desires long AND full lashes. I'm particular on the full lashes, because my lashes have a bit of length already.
Overall 4 out of 5; It's a really excellent mascara but, personally, I need some volume in my lashes.
Giveaway! I have two of these, so I'm going to give one away. Leave a comment with your email address. You must be a follower of my blog or a subscriber to my YouTube channel (if you are a subscriber on YouTube, leave your user name). I'll select someone in one week on Wednesday, April 15th. Or rather, Excel's random number generator will. I know I don't have a lot of followers, but I have two of these and I'm not going to use both of them. I'll also throw a few other things in there, not sure what yet.
(Sorry, Tiffers, no family members.)

NOTD: Monday April 6 2009
EOTD: Monday April 6 2009
This is titled "EOTD" and not "FOTD" because I forgot to take pix of the rest of my face. Actually, I don't remember what I used for blush. Used Everyday Minerals Sweet Almond Foundation and Abbott's Perk Me Up Concealer, if you're curious. I have pix of the lip products, but not pix of the lips.
The one word that came to mind with this EOTD was "romantic." It's such a soft, frosty, lovely look. But super simple!

NOTD: Saturday April 4 2009
Okay, so I was a little bored on Friday night. Can you tell? I drank too much of a caffeinated soda and was up all night. This is the result!
These are the colors I used. They are neon's by Claire's. Came in a pack that also included purple and blue (pix on the purple later. It's quite a gem.)
First, I applied the orange to opacity (I think three coats)
The orange looks a bit pinky when the light hits it a certain way. Enough so that I did a double take the first time I ever used this polish and thought "Pink?? I painted my nails orange." This is the only photo I had that picked it up in the slightest; sorry for the blurriness. (Is this what people mean by duochrome? Forgive my ignorance. This polish is orange in some lights and pink in others.)
Next, apply yellow to the tips. Opaque in 3 thin or 2 thick coats.
Next, take your dotting tool/paper clip/tooth pick/tiny brush and dot the green all over. This turned out very sheer. Oh well. I didn't want to put dots over my dots.
All in all, I am thoroughly satisfied with this mani. It's so much fun!!! Great time killer for the insomniac in you.
