Haul Pt. 2: Fred's

I've never been to Fred's before, but I was in the area so I thought I'd check it out, see what kind of make-up they had.

My Haul:

They had some good stuff by MAX Factor and Maybelline for cheaper than you'd get it at the drug store. Plus the Maybelline was on sale!!! I picked up some Intense XXL Volume + Length Mascara in Very Black. It was only 4.49! It usually costs closer to $8.

Second, I picked up the Trim Remover . I think that's what it's called. It's for removing blackheads and whiteheads. The picture isn't the Trim implement, but another brand. It was $2.49. I've wanted to try one of these for a while. Remember, I'll always review new products for you! But it might take me a while.

Next, I picked up an E.L.F. Blushing, Bronzing and Blending Brush. It was $2.00, which is more than E.L.F. normally sells for, but there isn't anywhere around here that sells it and I didn't want to have to pay shipping!!! It looks okay, feels pretty soft. Fafinettex3 said it might shed, I think. We'll see.

Lastly, I picked up a Gem Mustache/Beard Scissors and Comb. My beard is getting out of control, you know? Just kidding! Wow, gross! Actually, a lot of people use it to trim their eyebrows. That's what I'll be doing. It was $1.29. The product picture I've got here is the Trim Implement. I've never heard of Gem before, you probably haven't either. But this shows you what we're talking about.

Haul Pt. 1: Walmart

Okay, so I'm going to stop shopping today. I've totally got enough stuff!!!! Okay, that's a lie, when can you have enough brushes and eyeshadow? But, I'll be broke before I know it. But, today I went to Wal-Mart to get an organizer for my make-up.

My Haul:

I got the idea from Fafinettex3. She has almost the same thing, but her's is white.

I also got some jars and ribbons for my brushes, I can't wait to show it to you when it's done!!! I also got this idea from Fafinettex3. I got two small hurricane jars made for candles and two spools of ribbon, pink and pale lilac.

These are hers. Mine aren't going to be anywhere near as nice as these, but that's okay.

Lastly at Wal-Mart, I got some Rimmel Extra Super Lash. It was a special value pack: 2 for $3.97!!!! That's less than two dollars each! How awesome!

Color Workshop and L.A. Colors

So, I was going through all my make up. I actually have quite a bit. I haven't used it in a while though. I was testing the makeup and tossing out some of the crappier stuff. Like, I found a mascara that made my eyelashes one huge black clump. Gross. It was Avon, but I'm sure it was pretty old. I found a lip gloss palette that I might've used once. Can't find a pic online. I'll take one later. Anyway, it's got glitter gloss, nude, a light bronze color, rose, bright pink, and dark red. The rose is the only one I really thought I'd like. So, I decided to try a couple of the colors. The brush that comes with it SUCKS! There are hairs in the bronze now. The colors are VERY sheer. I almost couldn't tell I had the bronze on. But, it makes my lips feel soft and smooth. After I put the bronze on, I thought I'd try the dark red and see how dark it is. But, again, very very sheer. So, with the dark red on top of the bronze, it actually looks really good! I think I'll keep this. :-)

I also unpacked my new L.A. Colors eyeshadow palettes and Aziza Rocks Liquid Eyeliner and decided to play around with my new toys. BTW, I officially suck at putting on liquid eyeliner, but I like the concept a lot, so I'm going to keep working on it. For the eyeshadow, I used Eye Candy. I started with the Champagne as a highlighter, brightener sort of color, right under the brow and at the corner of my eye, by the tear ducts. Then I used the dark lilac along my lid. It was pretty light. I was using a brush, but I think if I used the spongy applicator, it would be brighter, more vivid. On top, I put the hot pink color. I liked this color a lot! It wasn't so bright that it made me look ridiculous, but you can definitely see the pink. I wish I had my freaking camera. I also can't find my phone, but that doesn't matter because you wouldn't be able to see the colors anyway. On my lower lid, very thin, below the lashes, I used the aqua color. It was pretty interesting. So I swept more of the aqua lightly up past my lashes. Not too much. But I was just playing around, so it doesn't matter. Then I swept more of the pink on the top lid and kind of across and down to meet the aqua. Okay that doesn't make sense at all. But I used such a little amount that I swear to you that I do not look like a clown. Then, I used a brush to blend the top lid better. It looked a lot better after that. I like these colors a lot! They're fun to play around with.

Prom Hairstyle by Fafinettex3

Well, I can't sleep. So, I'm up watching videos on Youtube by Fafinettex3. I came across her Prom Hairstyle video and it looked SOOOO super easy! I just had to try it. It's kinda like a bouffant-y thing, but not so high or crazy looking. So, I did it. It WAS super easy! :-) You just section off your hair, top half and bottom half, twist the top half of your in the back, push it up and pin it! (Watch the vid, this is no lesson.) I have my bangs down, framing my face. It actually looks alright. I didn't do mine as high as hers. So, I went to take a photo and ARRRG! I left my camera in Kevin's room! I'll have to do it again later and show you.

Haul: Dollar Tree and Sally's

A/N: I just uploaded pix, so you can see everything. :-) 1:12 AM 7/22/08

Like I said, I went to Sally's today to pick up some stuff. While I was out, I stopped by the dollar store as well, because I heard they had some decent L.A. Colors make-up. For a dollar!

So, I went to Dollar Tree first:

I got two L.A. Colors eyeshadow palettes. They must've been discontinued because I can't find them one the L.A. Colors website. I got "eye candy" and "precious." Eye Candy has champagne, teal, a coral-y rust color, hot pink, dark lilac, and aqua. Precious has a beige, caramel, chocolate, gold, rust, and burgundy. They're all a little shimmery, not too much. They're fun colors that I haven't played with before.

Next, I got Aziza Rocks Liquid Eyes in Easy Teal. This must've also been discontinued. I guess that's how the dollar store works. So if you click on these links and they don't work, it's because the only place I can find pix is on e-bay!!!

Next, so exciting, I found some Physician's Formula! Yay!!! First, Illuminating Eye Shadow in Classic Crystal. It's shaped like a cameo locket with the cameo picture pressed into the shadow. I'm excited to try this one, it's shimmery and very beautiful. Second, Virtual Eyes Multi-Reflective Eye Gloss in Eye-Tech. When looking for a link, I found some bad review. I'll have to try it for myself. When I get new make-up, I'll review it for you guys. Of course, if I get it at the dollar store, it doesn't matter, since it's been discontinued. lol.

Next, I got a small make-up bag. Nothing fancy.

I got some small hair clips. The link isn't the clips, but just to show you what kind I'm talking about. These ones are pretty small. Made for children, actually. But they're fun colors. Pink, purple, yellow, green, etc. 16 clips altogether. Very cute and very good for holding my hair back.

My main purpose in going to Sally Beauty Supply was to get a set of hair coloring accessories. I got a Color Trak Tools kit that has the highlighting cap, a combination frosting needle/mixing spatula, a color applicator brush, a CAPE!, and disposable gloves. All this for only $3.49. AWESOME. Second, I picked up some Beyond The Zone Frizz Zapper: Anti Frizz Serum. I can't wait to try this one out! I almost left the store before I remembered that I needed a couple brushes. I picked up Face Secrets Concealer/Liner brush and Eye Contour Brush.

So, I've got a bunch of new stuff and can't wait to try it out!!!! I'll let you know how it goes.

Today's Face

So, today I wanted to go to Sally Beauty Supply to pick up stuff for coloring and highlighting my hair. Normally I would throw on jeans and a tee, pull my hair into a ponytail, and go. I decided to actually put on my contacts, put on make up, and a nice top that I have never worn. I dunno why. It's pretty cute. I haven't quite gotten the hang of the flat iron, but my hair still looked pretty good, since I cut it this morning.

This is all the makeup and tools I used:

Face:
  1. I started with Max Factor Silk Perfection liquid-to-powder makeup in Cool Bronze. I love this stuff. My mom gave it to me and I'll probably use it until it's discontinued! It's perfect for my face. It's light, I can't even feel the make-up. Goes on smoothly.
  2. Next, I swept on Covergirl Tanfastic Bronzer in Soleil. Also got this from my mom. I swept a very light amount along the sides of my face.
  3. After this, I swept some Maybelline expert wear blush in Twin Peach on the apples of my cheeks and upwards on the cheekbone. It's a duo and I swirl my brush through both colors.

Eyes:
  1. After I finished with my face, I moved to the eyes. I started with L'oreal's Wear Infinite eyeshadow in Frosted Icing. You apply this right below the brow to brighten the eyes.
  2. For my main eyeshadow colors, I used a Nars eyeshadow duo in Elisa. I love Nars eyeshadows. They're smooth and stay on without creasing. However, there're unbelievable expensive. $32 bucks for this little compact. I bought it on one outrageous shopping spree about 2 years ago when I spent around $200 at Benets, in Greenville, SC. I applied the Icy Blue first on my lower lid, then I swept the Iridescent Lilac across the top.
  3. Next comes the eyeliner. I used Almay's Intense I-Color eyeliner in Purple Amethyst. I just purchased this the other day. I like the color a lot. Purple is suppose to bring out my eye color.
  4. I curled my eyelashes and then applied Almay's Intense I-Color Volumizing Mascara in Purple Amethyst. I was a little disappointed with the brush. I've never used one of those plastic-y brushes before and it's so thin. It didn't seem to volumize my lashes at all, but they were purple! Also, I had to comb them out a bit afterwards. It left them sticking together a little.

Lastly, the lips:
  1. I applied L'oreal's Endless Kissable Lipcolor in Mulberry Kiss. This stuff goes on real smooth and it really does stay! After I put it on the first time, I tried to blot, just to see if it would come off. Nope! Stays on all day!
  2. I coated the lipcolor with Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lipgloss in Candy Baby. This was a gift from someone at work last Christmas. It's pretty and tastes very yummy!

I had to include this picture because I couldn't find the pictures of these colors online. The first is the Nars eyeshadow duo in Elisa. I really wanted to show you this because I LURVE these colors! They're so gorgeous. The second is the Maybelline expert wear blush in Twin Peach. I've had this for a while. I like the colors. They're both good, but I like to swirl them together.

This is the end result (for the FACE, not everything else!):
Okay, well this picture sux. A lot. But I included it so you can see the top. I think it's pretty cute. (Now you can compare this pic with older pictures to see just how much weight I've gained! Damn you, meds!)

Everything is pretty light except the lip color. I wasn't sure how bold I wanted to go.

A couple pictures of my eyes. It's pretty hard to see everything 'cuz it's so light, but you can see the shimmer a little. In the first picture you can see the liner better. Gimme a break, I'm working on it.

My hairline is pretty messy and my hair is frizzy, but this is only this finished product for the FACE. Not the hair! Lol

Special Effects

I'll be dying my hair Atomic Pink with Wildflower highlights this week, as soon as the dyes come in. (Colors by Special Effects.) I can't wait to post pictures! I've done funky hair colors before, but nothing this wild!
